On December 1st 2015 the Canal Society purchased the historic Depuy Canal House with a grant from Open Space Institute and NYS Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation as the new home for our Museum.
We purchased this historic building for the whole community- we want your ideas on how we can make our Museum a compelling destination for all, locals as well as visitors to the region. E-mail us at "firstname.lastname@example.org" with any ideas or comments!
The D&H Canal Historical Society was established in 1966. Its mission is to celebrate the story of the Delaware & Hudson Canal, its communities and
industries, and their role in building our nation.
The D&H Canal Historical Society has begun a new and exciting period of growth with its
acquisition of the historic Depuy Canal House in High Falls, NY to serve as its new home.
As part of fulfilling its mission, the Society operates a museum and maintains the Five Locks Walk, a National Historic Landmark.
